The
company-sponsored CDL training offered by Driver Solutions is
provided by a network of independent truck driver training
schools. At Driver Solutions, we are committed to providing
each recruit with the best possible CDL training. Each school
must meet our rigid requirements to be an approved network training
provider. Our standards are high and we have personnel on-site
at each campus to constantly monitor the training process.
Each of the network schools is nationally recognized as a premiere
truck driving training program.
In about three weeks, we'll fully prepare you for a successful, lucrative career
as an over-the-road driver with your sponsoring company.
CDL Training Campus Locations.
The schools are located near the major freight lanes and hiring areas of the
Driver Solutions network companies. By utilizing only a select number of
training providers, the Driver Solutions network is able to offer you a quality
training experience in your region.
School facilities and equipment.
The truck driving schools feature state-of-the-art facilities all developed to
help make your training as easy as possible. Some of these features may include
multimedia learning tools, a computerized driving simulator that'll give you a
feel for the "big rig", well-designed student training materials and a large
paved training ground.
Driving instructors
each have an average of over 5 years of professional over-the-road
driving experience. The instructors understand the issues
facing new drivers and can help by relating their knowledge and
experience of the career. In addition to his own driving
experience, each instructor completes an intensive instructional
program on effective CDL training. This helps Driver Solutions
ensure a consistent training
program.
The training fleet includes over 65 late model Freightliner conventional
tractors and dry van trailers with simulated loads. The fleet is professionally
maintained to ensure your training experience is the very best. Our goal
is to train you on equipment with features similar to the equipment the network
carriers are using.
What the CDL training program teaches you.
The truck driver training program begins with your DOT physical, DOT drug screen
and CDL permit testing. Then, for the first two weeks, your training will
include a mixture of classroom and range work, including things like backing-up
exercises, etc. For your final week, training will include a mixture of
street and range training. To graduate, you'll need to pass both a final
road test and the CDL skills test.
Your classroom time will cover:
-
Proper logging
routines
-
Trip planning
-
Map reading
-
Hazardous
materials regulations
-
Accident
prevention
-
Defensive driving
techniques
-

mechanical issues
Your behind-the-wheel time will let you practice
techniques you learned in the classroom and more:

street exercises
-

turning
-
Proper pre-trip

-

A big emphasis is
placed on the skills needed to pass the CDL skills test, which
you'll take at the end of your training.
